Coral or padauck (African) is a sensational crimson coral timber, heavy, hard and strong. Over time with oxidization the rich dark red turns to a deep vermillion brown hue. About as heavy, but stronger than oak, padauk works exceptionally well with either hand or power tools. You'll have no trouble gluing or sanding padauk.

It takes paint or enamel very well.

There is no official definition of exotic wood, but generally it comes from trees considered rare or endangered or from stocks that do not yield large quantities of high standard timber. This timber is highly desirable to craftsmen, furniture makers, woodworkers and ship model builders because it is extremely well suited, both aesthetically and practically.
For a beautiful finishing touch to your ship model. Our exotic woods are excellent for the application of inlays.
